Date Night in Watkins Glen

Jun 30, 2020

After several months of cooking at home due to the pandemic, Ron and I were finally able to enjoy a meal out in downtown Watkins Glen! Situated on the south end of Seneca Lake, we dined outside along the water’s edge at the Seneca Harbor Station. Enjoying a beautiful view of the marina and setting sun, we had a delicious dinner of seafood and wine from the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. (I even indulged in a piece of their peanut butter pie. It just sounded too good to pass up!)

The entire waterfront was incredibly busy………………….an intimate wedding reception on a nearby patio, fishermen trying their luck off the pier, families out for bike rides, etc.  We even saw some paddle boarders out on the water with their dogs- something that is definitely in Lexi’s very near future! (There’s a spot down at Clute Park that rents the boards along with other water sport equipment, called Seneca Lake Kayak. We’ll be visiting them soon!)

When we got home to Magnolia Place, Ron and I enjoyed a bottle of Blanc de Noir, a gift from our neighbor Ryan William Vineyard.  (His tasting room is several miles south of us, but the vineyards are just across the road.) What a great way to end our little “date night”. It’s finally feeling as though summer has arrived!
