About Magnolia Place
Magnolia Place is here for making memories
An historic Inn, Magnolia Place was brought to life in 1837 as a farmhouse, made from the very trees felled on the grounds on which she stands. As you look out upon Seneca Lake and the vineyards before you, your breath will be taken away at the beauty of the largest of New York’s Finger Lakes. Nestled in the nexus of New York’s finest wineries, you will find endless opportunities to make new memories that will last a life time, from wine and brewery tastings, enjoying the pristine waters of Seneca Lake, experiencing the spectacular waterfalls in the many state parks, exploring local museums, to hiking on endless trails. The Inn is only minutes from Watkins Glen International Speedway, with Cornell University and Ithaca College just a short drive away. The area has many unique shopping opportunities and the culinary options are varied. With all this to offer, Magnolia Place provides the perfect balance between modern elegance and historic charm.
As your Innkeepers, we (Ron and Kathryn) are always at the ready to provide you with a warm welcome and experience that will leave you refreshed and wanting to come back for more. Mention an interest to us and we will have you on your way to enjoying whatever it is you are looking for.
We invite you to settle into to your room or suite and take in the experience that is Magnolia. Walk into the Garden room and enjoy a hot beverage, relax in the living room, on the wrap around porch or take a stroll up the hill and view the sunset from the vineyards above the Inn.
Our wonderful fully air-conditioned (summer) and cozy, heated (winter) Inn, with its historic atmosphere and our knowledge of the local activities will make your stay one of the most delightful and memorable experiences you will ever have. Whether for a romantic getaway, an activity filled vacation, a family get-together, or simply as an end to your Sunday drive, Magnolia Place’s tastefully restored rooms, culinary delights and stunning views welcome you.
About us…
Katy and I are the proprietors of this historic farmhouse. I bring years of hospitality experience at many different hotels, restaurants and most recently the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center. My extensive knowledge of the industry and ability to think outside the box will show in the quality of the room details to the culinary delights I prepare for you each morning.
Katy, an educator (a recently retired Kindergarten teacher and now a college professor) is the decorator of the team, constantly developing and shaping the look of Magnolia Place. She brightens any room she steps into with her warm and welcoming persona, a better hostess you will not find.
But let’s not forget who REALLY runs the place, Lexi, our Black Lab. She’ll greet you as you enter, play a game of fetch if you dare and make you smile with her full wiggle wag.
Together, we will shape your stay into a memorial one, one that you will want to duplicate over and over by coming back to Magnolia Place time and time again.
Welcome to our home, make lasting memories, just as we are, here at Magnolia Place.
